Week 1
A week ago, the art show, Femme Talk, was created. Meeting with Reed Sullivan, one of the art teachers at Priory, I began to talk about the logistics behind the art show. Deciding a date was difficult, for the Kriewall-Haehl lobby was pretty booked for the upcoming months. I managed to reserve the space for a week after Spring Break. During the meeting I had with Mrs. Sullivan, I learned that hosting an art show is not as easy as I thought. There are countless forms to be filled out, people to have talked to, and artists to find. Currently, I have set up an interview with Reed Sullivan on the 15th of February. My second interview will be with the editor in chief from a WOC magazine at Emerson College. I plan on posting the interviews I have with them on my website for anyone to see.
Week 2
Last week I had the week off and took that opportunity to work on my own personal details of the art show. I went up to San Francisco with a camera in hand and began to take short video clips and photos. I also had my second interview, with Lucie Pereira, the current editor in chief of Flawless Mag. Flawless Mag is an online publication of different mediums of art created for women of color. It is run at Emerson College, and has been up for about 2 years now. Through a phone call, we talked for a while and I was able to expand my knowledge on representation of women through art. My current task right now is to create a flyer advertising my art show to local female artists. It should be up around campus and online within the next week.

Week 3
Changing my mind for what seems like the hundredth time, I decided to adjust the the theme surrounding my art show. Instead of having a collaborative art show, I decided on only featuring my personal photography. Thus, I would be able to precisely set up the art show. While taking the photos for the show, I focused on women of color and took shots of them doing things they tend to do on a daily basis, or things they loved. This ranged from women painting to women playing instruments. After taking so many photos just to get the perfect one, I decided on 10 of my photos to hang up.

Week 4
As the date of the opening day is approaching, I am running around trying to finalize the details of show. I ordered food to have at the reception, I printed the photos out to the appropriate size, and of course, I spread the word of my show. I knew how much people spend on their social media, so I made a Facebook Event and shared it online. For those who don't participate on social media that much, I created a flyer and distributed it near Priory and in nearby cities as well. Meeting with Reed Sullivan a few times beforehand to go over both minor and major details helped me out a lot.

Week 5
The opening day of the art show went well. On a Saturday afternoon, around 40 people stopped by to see the gallery. There was food and music playing, allowing for a more casual scene. I noticed that through the photos on the walls, the ability to begin conversations about this topic became easier for individuals. The majority of those that came were women. I would say it was successful and a great end to my senior project.
